Winter Home-Selling Tips

    Thinking of listing your house in the coming months? There is no reason to wait until spring. Winter buyers are out there, and they are more serious than ever. There are few houses on the market, so you have less competition, too! Today I’ve got my best tips for listing your house in the winter. If you’d like to call and just chat about it, don’t hesitate!     Make it cozy.

    When you’re selling your home, you’re selling an experience. Keeping the temperature up allows buyers to feel more comfortable and imagine themselves living there. When the house is comfortable, buyers are more likely to linger and get a better feel for the space.

    Create a mood.

    Throws, pillows, and candles will make your house more inviting. Show buyers the great ways they could utilize your house – and try to make it as appealing as possible. You can even  give your bathroom a spa makeover by simply hanging plush robes on some hooks, putting washcloths in baskets and arranging your soaps and bath products so they look extra pretty.

    Let the light shine in.

    Make sure all blinds and shutters are open. Turn on every light, even in closets. If possible, show in the daytime. Buyers will  find your house more appealing if they’re able to see everything outside and potential views. If you do need to show it in the dark, make sure all outdoor lights are on.

    Plan ahead… by a few seasons.

    If you have an inkling you’ll be selling your home next winter, get some photos taken of the exterior  when your garden is lush and flowers are in full bloom. This will really help buys who are unsure of what the landscaping looks like during the gray winter months.
